i have read the gospel of thomas a few times, and it appears to be close to the gospels canonized by the "authorized (by themselves) catholic church" which, through history, has divided into what is now "christianity" in general. i am curious whether others might agree that the gospel of thomas seems threatening to the "authorized catholic church" in that it has jesus seemingly saying that each person needs no structure, like the "organized" church which most of christianity has become, in order to realize the kingdom.
