As Bishop McDaniel of the ELCA put it, "The ELCA is no longer Christian". He stated this in Fort Wayne a few months ago. The ELCA IS no longer Christian because they no longer hold the inerrancy of scripture. I used to be ELCA, and am not an LCMS Lutheran. We talked to many pastors and bishops about the ELCA when we were members, they are into a one world religion, and take Luther out of context to prove that Luther was of this mindset also.
ELCA rejects the inerrancy of scripture, they feel that it is up to your own interpretation, some deny Christ's deity and so on. This is the most liberal church next to the episcopalian church (if I can spell their name correctly). My advice is to have nothing to do with them and go to a Missouri Synod church, or Wisconsin Synod or ELS. They are the only ones that stay faithful to God's word.
