The Wicket Gate reflects JB's own experience - he describes a vision he had in GRACE ABOUNDING, of a wall separating him from true believers. He couldn't get through to the other side, except for a small doorway in the wall, which allowed him to finally struggle painfully through into the sunshine, on the other side.
