Hey this is for Diane!!! I got really interested when i heard this theory and followed it up! The whole thing is Alices hallucination beggining when she drinks the herbal tea which is an appropriate substitute for LSD... She begins hallucinating and chasing the white rabbit which is a metaphor for speed (Sometimes cocaine is called white rabbit)!!! The cubers are supposed to be metephors for marijuana... The catapillar is smokin dope, hense why he is slow and incoherent!!! He offers Alice the mushroom to help see things from a different perspective, more hallucinations... When you take drugs ppl hallucinate and can feel big or small, Alice keeps going small big small big cos she takes different drugs... I'm sorry im unable to back up my theory with quotes as i haven't read the book since i was 9 and have only heard this recently... Of course i had no idea about this when i was nine...
