I believe Lewis Carroll’s famous question (“Why is a raven like a writing desk”) to be an erroneous one. I believe that in a better world, one would ask, “Why isn’t a raven like a writing desk?” It is an all too common fundamental flaw that in our ysis of something, we judge that said thing in comparison to another thing, instead of basing our judgment solely on the merits (or otherwise) of the object in question. This marred for me an otherwise enjoyable read.
