We have a copy of The Cookie Tree. It's about Meg in a medieval village where things are always supposed to stay the same. One day a cookie tree appears in the village square. There is much concern, "what is it for?" The children know. The chocolate cookies disappear (the children eat them) while the adults are debating (Thelwin the Thin, for instance). The adults think up three reasons for the tree. But it disappears. Somewhere a wizard smiles. Our copy is badly torn. I would really love to find a more readable copy for my grand-daughter. If you want me to reproduce the text on line or find the author's name, let me know.
: could the book be The cookie tree? it might help if you could remeber any part of the story-but this book was read to me1964-1968 and it was a great story
