: c Whats the big idea?
: d Ask questions: who? what? where? when? how?
: e consider the type of literature.
: f. Be sensititve to the mood/atmosphere of the book.
: G summarize the main ideas in your own words.
: 2 Interpretation (exegisis)
: a Ask the why questions.
: b Determine what it meant to the original readers.
: c Becone a time traveler. Consider the historical context.
: D what cirstance could have led to the writing of the book?
: E What did the author wish to communicate to the reader of his day?
: 3. Application (hermemneutics) How does it apply to me today?
: a The goal of bible study.
: b Determine the general principles that can be drawn from your study thus far.
: c Ask yourself if there is an identical, comparable or different situatoion to which this principle may apply today.
: D prayerfully meditate on these principals and consider:
: 1 how do these truths apply to my life.
: 2 what changes should I make in my life.
: 3 how do I plan on carrying out these changes. Be specific.
: 4. Commit these changes to God in prayer.
