Hi In my opinion they dipped in the wine vinegar as a matter of taste much like we might dip our dry bread in soup or something to soften it. What is important though is to understand that Boaz is a foreshadow of Christ and partaking of the Bread and wine and dipping the bread in the wine is an exact picture of Christ sitting down with his disciples at the last supper and also a direct parrallel of our communion with him. Spiritually we can sit with him and partake of the bread of life and living water. Thanks
