Even if she does publish a 6th book it will be a cut and paste of her earlier works with very little new material, much like her 5th book. Clan Of The Cave Bear is my favorite post 1950's book. I appreciate the years of research she gathered; it was not an easy task. However, put the research to work and create something new for the readers. If we want to revisit the earlier books, we'll re-read them. We don't need to spend $30 to read them. As for enjoying herself - the jacket cover looks like shes a hard so why did her ing you off surprise you. Let's enjoy the Clan for what it is - a wonderfully researched, hard to put down read - an amazing story told by an amazing storyteller and forget the cash hungry, impatient with the readers, woman who wrote it.

: When I spoke with her at the book signing she said she was just starting the 6th book (contrary to what her grandson was saying) and then she blew me off - I've got the impression she's not in a hurry to finish that book either! She sure as hell didn't look like she was enjoying herself either - why she bothers to do book signing when she's making big bucks is beyond me!

: : I have serious doubts that book 6 will ever be written. MS Auel has made millions on her 5 books and now she wants to spend it on her family and grandchildren especially. I think if I were in her shoes I would do the same thing.
