You try shaking hands with several thousand people in a 10 or 15 week book signing tour and see how firm your handshake is. Even if it's just 4 or 5 weeks, she has seen and shaken hands with literally thousands of people. As for her aloofness, people need to realize that that's not aloofness, per se. It is professional distance. She's not going to like or get good vibes from everyone she meets, and yet for P.R. sake, she can't be out and out rude, so she maintains professional distance. Concerning your thoughts on the ending, while you are entitled to your opinion, I thought it ended at a logical place, even though I didn't like that it ended there. But it is true to form with all the others. They end at a turning point in Ayla's life. You have to admit, her decision to enter the Zelandonia is a major turning point in her life.
Also, when I met Jean at a book signing, I was disappointed at her aloofness and fishy handshake.
